Decision Maker for Reception and Return Center in Vänersborg

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are around 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

With us, you will work on current societal issues influenced by what happens in our surroundings. Issues that concern and engage. We offer a dynamic work environment where continuous improvement and meeting people are in focus.

The Reception and Return Center is a new type of workplace. You will work with issues that concern and engage in a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people and influenced by what happens in our surroundings. It is also an environment characterized by continuous learning and participation, where we, through co-location, have better conditions to work closely together between the professions in the asylum process. We are also close to the asylum seeker by working where they live. This allows us to work more efficiently and make it safer for the asylum seeker.

What does a Decision Maker do?

As a decision maker, you support and develop your colleagues in legal application, subject matters, and investigation methodology. You identify and analyze areas for development and propose improvements. On behalf of the unit, you gather and maintain knowledge and monitor standards, guidelines, and practices.

You handle, investigate, and decide on cases based on laws and regulations. The decisions you make have legal effects for individuals and affect their rights to benefits, rights, and obligations. You manage appeals and follow up on cases in connection with presentations to ensure high legal quality. Your tasks include making confidentiality assessments before information is disclosed and administering records and documents in cases. You also work to guide and provide service to individuals with cases at the Migration Agency and to other stakeholders with various inquiries.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and their different conditions. You are clear and adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and resolve conflicts constructively. Furthermore, you are meticulous and place great importance on meeting goals and quality standards. You take responsibility for your tasks and independently structure your work. You quickly and judiciously weigh information and make swift decisions, despite limited information, time pressure, or difficult circumstances.

In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
